About
Umm Hi DIY Best Friend.
I’m so glad you’re here!
My name is Sarah & I’m so excited to talk all things DIY, home, motherhood, and more. Whether you’re a project pro or terrified to pick up a drill, I promise there’s a spot for you to learn and grow! Yes, you.
It all started with a free dresser and a can of paint.
I was eight months pregnant with my second baby and I was determined to have my toddler’s room put together for the arrival of his little brother. I wanted a dark blue dresser with gold hardware and I couldn’t find it anywhere, so, I DIYed it!
From there, I started learning more. Oh, you need primer? Cool. There’s a special kind of paint for furniture? News to me. But it was a start! I fell in love with doing things on my own and learning.
And with each project I got a little better. I used new tools. I watched a looot of tutorials. I also cried a lot, I doubted myself a lot, I got scared, I didn’t know what I was doing. But I stayed brave and now I get to share what I’ve learned with each of you! It is seriously amazing the potential we can unlock if we just let go of the fear of failure. I can’t wait to see what you create!
But who is she?
Okay, hi. I’m Sarah! Most days you can find me with a baby on my hip, candy in my mouth, and a drill in my hand. After dating my best friend for four years, we got married and now we’re raising two wild little boys and the sweetest baby girl. Most days feel like an absolute circus and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Being a wife & mom is the most special part of my life.
I have a bachelor’s degree in public relations and for seven years I worked full-time as a marketing manager for a multi-million dollar tech company. While working, I started diving deeper and deeper into DIY and content creation on the side and completely fell in love. Not only with the projects and documenting them, but the community I built. Empowering women and encouraging anyone and everyone to continue learning and growing was so fulfilling that it honestly felt like what I was put on earth to do. So I went for it and quit my corporate job to build Sarah Flips it and here we are!
I fell in love with art at a young age, spending hours crafting in my room. I’m thankful for a mom who let me make messes, explore, and encouraged my ideas. In school, you could almost always find me throwing a pot, developing photos, or painting. I hope to give my kids the same space to learn and grow.
